Our Services

Specialty + Labor Services

If you’re in need of a strong back, extra hands, or just want to save your knees, Soda City Movers can offer you some of our crew members to use for any heavy lifting, moving or removal. We’re here to help with whatever you need!

Labor Services

Labor jobs are quoted by the hour (does not include the use of a truck, dollies and moving blankets), with the price reflecting how many crew members you and your moving guru decide are needed. All moves are charged in 15 minute increments after the 2 hour minimum. The time will start when the crew arrives at your home and end when the job is done. We charge a flat trip charge for your convenience based on where you are moving to or from. This will cover the mileage, fuel and any other trip costs needed to travel to and from the office from your location.

Labor Services

  • Rearrange furniture
  • Move heavy pieces up stairs
  • Load or unload your POD or UHAUL
  • Clear space for special event or party
  • Junk removal services

PIANO + safe MOVING

Soda City Movers can move your piano or safe, too! We have experience moving all types of pianos from a standard upright to some of the finest grand pianos. In fact, we move some sort of piano most days. We are equipped with “piano boards” and other necessary tools to assist with moving baby grand and grand pianos.

THE PROCESS

Pianos and safes are all very different, and depending on the type you’re moving, it may require additional manpower. For example, most spinet pianos can be moved with 2 movers, while traditional upright and baby grand pianos will need at least 3 movers. For grand pianos, we require a minimum of 4 movers to ensure the safety of our employees and our customers’ property.

Due to safety reasons, we will only move pianos and safes that are going from and to a ground floor location. Up to 5 exterior steps are not a problem in most cases, but we will not move any piano or safe up or down more than 5 steps. If you’re only moving a piano or a safe, keep in mind that we have a 2 hour minimum for all local moves.

In addition to our normal hourly rates, we do charge equipment fees as follows:

  • Spinet/Upright Pianos – $150+
  • Baby Grand/Grand Pianos – $200+
  • Safe – $150+

Junk Removal

Our professionally-trained teams are ready to help remove your unwanted items and dispose of them properly and safely. No need to rent a dumpster or set the items out for trash pickup — our removal service can be provided as part of your moving service or as a standalone service. Our crew can haul away and dispose of as much or as little as you need. Whether we’re hauling away unwanted items for a charity pickup, or if you just need furniture disposal to make room for something new, Soda City Movers can provide the service for your home or business.

What we remove

  • Furniture disposal in preparation for a move or to make room for new furniture. We can do as little as a single item disposal!
  • Home or business renovations
  • Foreclosure or eviction cleanouts
  • Storage unit cleanouts
  • Removal of unwanted items from garage cleaning, estate cleaning, or business cleaning

What we can’t remove

Even though we’re disposing of your junk, there are limitations to what we can remove in our specialized junk trucks. It’s important to be familiar with this list so there aren’t any surprises during your junk removal service that force you to make alternate plans at the last minute.

  • Asbestos
  • Any medical waste or medical supplies
  • Household trash or garbage
  • Any liquid-based items, hazardous materials, wet paint, chemicals, household cleaners, HAZMAT materials, propane or other flammable items, oil filters, batter, or mercury-based items

What is restricted

Please check with your local office for government or state regulations regarding these items:

  • Appliances with liquids such as AC units, freezers, or dehumidifiers. Appliances that aren’t emptied
  • Heavy and dense materials like concrete, asphalt, dirt, brick, roofing shingles, and other miscellaneous debris
  • Yard waste, including trees, brush, grass, mulch, sod, and other vegetative waste can be hauled away within certain guidelines. Many disposal facilities can recycle this material, so it shouldn’t be mixed in with other junk. However, sod, dirt, or mulch may have capacity limitations due to weight.
  • Tires generally aren’t accepted at disposal facilities, however, you can contact a local tire recycle center or business to see if they can take them
  • Electronics which could be considered e-waste, including CRT televisions
